About IEEE SB CEK

The IEEE Student Branch at the College of Engineering, Karunagappally (CEK), has consistently set benchmarks for excellence in technology and innovation. Established on May 13th, 2009, as the fourth student branch in Travancore Hub, IEEE SB CEK has become one of the most dynamic branches in Region 10, with 10 societies and 2 affinity groups. Its commitment to technical advancement has earned it widespread recognition.

IEEE SB CEK holds the unique distinction of being the first and only student branch worldwide to win the IEEE MGA Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award five consecutive times. The branch has also garnered several prestigious awards, including the Darrel Chong Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. CEK is globally recognised for organising the first-ever IEEE student-led technical conference by undergraduate students and has made an impact internaltionally through the IEEE International Power and Renewable Energy Conference (IPRECON) and the nationally acclaimed LUXATHON hackathon.

As one of the oldest and most respected student branches in the Kerala section, IEEE SB CEK continues to raise the bar for student-led innovation and global recognition, securing its legacy as a powerhouse in the technology space.

About CEK

The Government College of Engineering Karunagappally (CEK) is a public institute of engineering and technology, located in the north-west of Kollam district, Kerala. Established in 1999 by the Government of Kerala, CEK is the second engineering college in Kollam district and the fourth under the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), previously known as the Institute of Human Resources Development in Electronics (IHRDE).

CEK is affiliated with A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (since 2015), recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Previously affiliated with Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) until 2014, CEK stands as the largest campus among IHRD institutions and has received support from the World Bank under the Government of India’s TEQIP Programme since 2012.

The college offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs across various engineering disciplines, continually pushing the boundaries of academic and technical excellence.

No, tickets are non-refundable. Once purchased, you will not receive a refund for cancellations.

Yes, all participants are required to stay at the event venue and accomodation area (night )during the event dates, even if their home is nearby. This is to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. No delegates are allowed to leave the venue or accommodation area at any time. In case of an emergency, please contact the organizers, who will make necessary arrangements after consulting with your SB Counselor/Faculty and Parents. For boys and girls separate accomodation will be arranged with a faculty in charge.
